Overview New Jersey’s premier academic health center, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) takes an integrated approach to educating students, providing clinical care, and conducting research, all with the goal of improving human health. Aligned with Rutgers University–New Brunswick and collaborating university‑wide, RBHS includes eight schools, a behavioral health network, and five centers and institutes that focus on cancer treatment and research, neuroscience, advanced biotechnology and medicine, environmental and occupational health, and health care policy and aging research. Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM) is New Jersey’s only dental school, encompassing education, patient care and community outreach. It is the state’s largest oral healthcare provider, treating more than 130,000 patient visits annually at its student clinic in Newark and three sites in South Jersey. Position Summary Provide instruction in the development of treatment plans for limited and comprehensive orthodontic treatment, one full‑day per week. Provide clinical supervision to undergraduate and postgraduate dental students for screenings and comprehensive care treatment, in compliance with clinic standards and university policies. Participate in the educational mission of the department by giving lectures and seminars, in addition to clinic supervision, and by participating in and moderating case conferences as assigned. Additional duties may be assigned by the department chair. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Understand and adhere to legacy UMDNJ’s compliance standards as outlined in the Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct, and Conflict of Interest Policy. Stay current with all pertinent federal, state, and legacy UMDNJ regulations, laws and policies as they exist and as they change. Qualifications Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited institution. Completion of an advanced education program in orthodontics at an institution accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation. Eligibility for licensure in New Jersey. American Board of Orthodontics certification and prior teaching and research activity are highly desirable.
