We are looking for talented and highly-motivated individuals who demonstrate a natural desire to improve and build new processes that support the meaningful work of independent physicians and the patients they serve.**Job Description:****Role Summary:**The Accounts Receivable Representative is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of health insurance claims with various insurance companies. This role reports to the A/R Manager. **Responsibilities:*** Keep current on carrier(s) website information that relates to the practice.* Process insurance carrier correspondence in a timely and professional manner.* Compose and prepare documentation for appeals.* Use resources effectively, arrange information and files in a useful manner, and meet project deadlines.* Prepare special claim projects; maintain project work/communication logs.* Identify non-payment trends or procedural roadblocks and report to Supervisor as needed.* Maintain a solid balance of health insurance claims that are 35 average days outstanding.* Research authorizations, work with providers, and manage pended claims promptly.* Additional responsibilities as assigned to help drive our mission of improving the lives of everyone living with cancer.**Required or Preferred Qualifications:*** Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.* Minimum of five (5) years of Medical Billing and insurance claim filing experience.* Ambulatory Surgical/Procedures/Urology experience preferred.* Familiarity with medical billing software. **Essential Competencies:*** Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute.* Attention to detail, willingness to learn, and bring forth ideas.* Ability to multi-task, effectively problem-solve, and work in a fast-paced environment.* Proficient computer software and database skills, especially with Word and Excel.* Strong written and verbal communication skills.* Accurate and efficient data entry skills.* Proven organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively.* Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an effective healthcare team member.* Current knowledge of acceptable and appropriate clinical practice, quality assurance, and patient management and care.* Proficient knowledge of Medical Terminology: ICD and CPT codes.* Attendance is an essential job function.This job description does not contain a full listing of activities, duties or responsibilities required of this role.
