Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students by providing sign language interpretation services for the upcoming academic year near Cottage Grove, OR. This full-time assignment (with multiple positions available) offers a chance to work alongside a collaborative team of educators, primarily serving students who are deaf or hard of hearing and contributing to a supportive educational atmosphere. Start and end dates will align with the assigned school, with placements running from August 24, 2026, through July 15, 2027.

Qualified candidates are vital to student success and will have the chance to tailor their caseload according to their preferences and experience. You’ll be working collaboratively with other interpreters and specialized staff, ensuring effective communication and inclusion for students.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language, with relevant credentials and certification as a Sign Language Interpreter
• Prior experience interpreting in educational settings preferred
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting students with various needs
• Flexible and adaptable approach; willingness to share caseload and home area/zip code preferences for optimal placement
• Current resume and interpreter licensure required for consideration
• References will be needed before interviews are scheduled

Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom instruction, activities, and events for DHH students and ensure clear communication between students, staff, and peers
• Collaborate with teachers and additional classroom support personnel to foster a positive educational experience
• Adapt interpreting style to meet student needs and maintain confidentiality in all assignments
