The Information Technology group delivers secure, reliable technology solutions that enable DTCC to be the trusted infrastructure of the global capital markets. The Impact you will have in this role:

We are seeking a Senior UI/UX Specialist to lead the design of intuitive, accessible, and cohesive digital experiences for DTCC Risk applications. This role will shape the experience strategy for portal consolidation and modernization, translating complex business processes and user needs into persona-based journeys, interaction models, prototypes, and reusable design patterns.

The ideal candidate combines strong user-centered design leadership with hands-on enterprise product design expertise. This individual will partner with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, engineers, and application teams to simplify fragmented user journeys, improve usability, and establish a consistent experience across internal, external, regulatory, and public-facing portals.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end UX and UI design for enterprise Risk portals and web applications, from discovery and research through detailed design, validation, and implementation support.

• Plan and conduct stakeholder interviews, user research, contextual inquiry, journey mapping, and usability testing to identify user needs, pain points, and improvement opportunities.

• Define personas, role-based journeys, information architecture, navigation models, task flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity interactive prototypes.

• Translate complex risk workflows, dashboards, maintenance screens, alerts, and reporting experiences into clear, efficient, and intuitive interfaces.

• Create and maintain reusable design systems, component libraries, interaction patterns, and design standards aligned with enterprise UX guidance and accessibility requirements.

• Partner with product owners and business analysts to convert business outcomes and requirements into user experience requirements, design specifications, and measurable acceptance criteria.

• Collaborate closely with Angular and React engineers to ensure design feasibility, responsive behavior, component reuse, and accurate implementation of approved designs.

• Provide design direction for portal consolidation, common shell and navigation experiences, persona-based dashboards, and modular or micro-frontend user experiences.

• Conduct design reviews and implementation walkthroughs, identify deviations, and work with engineering teams to resolve usability, consistency, and accessibility gaps.

• Apply responsive design, accessibility, usability heuristics, and inclusive design principles across desktop and supported device experiences.

• Use qualitative and quantitative feedback, user analytics, and usability findings to prioritize design improvements and demonstrate experience outcomes.

• Facilitate design workshops and communicate recommendations, trade-offs, and rationale clearly to senior business and technology stakeholders.

• Mentor team members and promote consistent user-centered design practices across multiple squads and modernization initiatives.

• Explore responsible use of AI-assisted design and research tools to accelerate ideation, prototyping, documentation, and design validation while maintaining appropriate review and governance.

• Document user journeys, design decisions, component behavior, accessibility requirements, and implementation guidance to support delivery and long-term maintainability.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 8 years of related experience
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience

Talents Needed for Success:

• Expertise user-centered design, design thinking, user research, and usability evaluation.

• Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design thinking, user research, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, prototyping, and measurable product outcomes.

• Advanced proficiency with Figma and experience with design systems, reusable components, variables, prototyping, and developer handoff. Experience with Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar tools is beneficial.

• Demonstrated experience designing complex data-intensive dashboards, workflows, forms, alerts, and reporting experiences.

• Strong knowledge of accessibility standards, responsive design, usability principles, and inclusive design practices.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and collaborating with distributed business, product, architecture, engineering, and quality teams.

• Excellent communication, facilitation, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills.

• Strong information architecture and interaction design skills for complex enterprise products.

• Experience modernizing and consolidating portals or web applications with fragmented user journeys.

• Working knowledge of modern front-end technologies and component-based development, including Angular or React, HTML, CSS, responsive layouts, and design-to-development handoff.

• Ability to balance user needs, business objectives, technical constraints, security, accessibility, and enterprise standards.

• Ability to influence without authority, facilitate alignment across multiple teams, and present design rationale to senior stakeholders.

• High attention to detail with a pragmatic, outcome-oriented approach to design quality and timely delivery.

• Curiosity and adaptability in applying AI-assisted tools and emerging design practices responsibly.
  
  

The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
