Job Title : Mobile Outreach Veteran’s Coordinator Department : Mobile Programs Reports to : Mobile Outreach and Community Services Mgr. Salary: $25.00/hour Status : Full-Time; 40 hours FLSA Classification : Non-Exempt Job Description The Mobile Outreach Veteran Coordinator is responsible for performing the necessary services for mobile distribution to include intake, scheduling, community distribution, food ordering, and related office tasks. The position requires the ability to operate a box truck and van. Essential Functions Responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with the veteran community and resource partners. Scheduling of visits/distributions throughout various locations in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Selection of nutritious foods for specific programs and preparing emergency food packages for distributions. Monitor grant funding and requirements. Loading and unloading products for designated distribution sites Monitor warehouse packing groups on a weekly basis Preform distribution of food and supplies directly to the community. Collect data on intake forms and submit summary reports for monthly progress. Seek opportunities for growth and expansion with community partners. Direct resources and assistance to neighbors in need. Assist in other community outreach programs, events and services as directed. Perform other duties and tasks assigned by the Mobile Outreach & Community Services Mgr. Required Skills & Abilities Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work as a team and demonstrate leadership skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office programs. Education & Experience Experience working with the U.S. military and/or veteran community Prior food industry experience preferred but not required. Related experience in distribution or warehousing preferred. Physical Requirements Prior experience operating a box truck and commercial sprinter van. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. Must be able work outside at community distribution sites Valid and clean NYS drives license, with DOT physical.
