As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Investigation in New York, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you. Job Schedule: Wed 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM Thur 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM How This Role Works: Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment. Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed. Responsibilities: Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and residents at a government-operated homelessness services location by carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities. Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, communicating observations to appropriate site personnel and emergency responders as needed. Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, entrances, common spaces, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns. Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, assisting with the orderly flow of residents, staff, and visitors. Document patrols, incidents, and unusual occurrences accurately and promptly, following Allied Universal and site reporting requirements. Minimum Requirements: Possess a New York State Security Guard License. Have at least one year of security-related experience. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
