Position Overview The Psychological Mind-Body Clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our team in Islip, New York. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough assessments of clients to identify their mental health needs, and develop comprehensive treatment plans that include crisis intervention strategies such as behavioral guidelines and risk assessments. Maintain high standards of documentation and record-keeping to comply with regulatory requirements, ensuring records are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Utilize evidence-based screening tools in collaboration with the clinical team to inform diagnoses and treatment plans, adapting approaches based on client feedback and progress. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement positive behavior support plans, ensuring clients receive holistic and coordinated care. Actively engage in licensing and accreditation processes by contributing to the necessary documentation and meetings that uphold clinic standards. Serve as a liaison between our clinic and various community partners, relevant service systems, and state agencies to enhance client support and access to resources. Foster open communication within the clinic and with external partners to promote the impactful mission of our organization and improve client access to services. Establish and maintain relationships with local, state, and federal agencies to promote our programs and explore opportunities for new partnerships and funding. Participate in continuous professional development activities including workshops, conferences, and specialized training, representing the agency as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Clinic Director, tailored to support the clinic’s operational needs. Patient Population / Client Focus Our Licensed Mental Health Counselor will work with a diverse clientele, ranging from individuals with emotional health challenges to those seeking recovery from substance use or support for developmental disabilities. You will tailor your therapeutic approach to meet the unique needs of each client, fostering a safe and supportive environment that encourages honest communication and personal growth. Qualifications A Master’s Degree in a behavioral health field is a requirement for this position, ensuring you possess the educational foundation to support our clients effectively. Active, independent LMHC licensure issued by the state board of New York is required. Proven ability to maintain clinical records and prepare comprehensive reports, showcasing your attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong skills in teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration, enabling you to work effectively in a supportive clinical environment. Compensation and Benefits This full-time position offers a competitive annual salary range of USD 86,000 to 103,000, commensurate with experience.
