Location: Corona, CA
Employment Type: Full-Time 8am-5pm
Classification: Exempt / Non-Exempt
Inland Respite, Inc. is seeking a People Relations Partner to join our People Operations team. This position serves as a trusted resource to employees and leaders, providing guidance and support related to employee relations, workplace investigations, employment compliance, conflict resolution, and company policies.
The People Relations Partner partners closely with the Senior People Operations Manager to promote consistent employee relations practices, accurate documentation, fair and respectful workplace standards, and effective resolution of workplace concerns.
The ideal candidate demonstrates sound judgment, strong interpersonal and communication skills, discretion, objectivity, and the ability to navigate sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism. This position may also provide secondary support for employee experience, engagement, and special projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESEmployee Relations
Serve as a primary resource for workplace conflicts, complaints, grievances, performance concerns, attendance issues, and policy violations.
Provide guidance and support to managers regarding employee relations matters.
Assist with coaching, counseling, progressive discipline, performance improvement plans, and employment separations.
Identify employee relations concerns early and support timely resolution.
Build trusted relationships while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Partner with the Senior People Operations Manager on complex or high-risk matters.
Workplace Investigations
Conduct thorough, timely, and impartial investigations involving complaints, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, misconduct, workplace behavior, and policy violations.
Conduct employee and witness interviews and gather and review relevant information and documentation.
Analyze information objectively and prepare investigation reports and case summaries.
Present findings and recommendations to the Senior People Operations Manager.
Recommend appropriate corrective actions based on documented findings.
Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and neutrality throughout the investigation process.
Escalate complex or high-risk investigations as appropriate.
Employment Law & Compliance
Maintain a working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
Support consistent application of company policies and procedures.
Partner with the Senior People Operations Manager and legal counsel as appropriate.
Stay informed of relevant regulatory developments.
Support updates to policies, procedures, and processes.
Assist with agency matters, legal inquiries, demand letters, and litigation-related documentation.
Documentation & Case Management
Maintain accurate and objective employee relations and investigation documentation.
Create and maintain organized case files.
Track employee relations cases, investigations, and corrective actions through resolution.
Identify trends and patterns in employee relations matters.
Support the development of templates, tools, standards, and processes.
Ensure documentation remains factual, professional, and objective.
Policy & Program Support
Assist with developing, reviewing, updating, and communicating company policies, procedures, and handbook materials.
Support training related to workplace conduct, harassment prevention, respectful workplace practices, documentation, employee relations, and manager development.
Reinforce company policies and expectations.
Support early issue resolution and a respectful workplace environment.
Secondary Responsibilities
Support employee recognition and engagement initiatives.
Assist with employee feedback surveys, trend analysis, and follow-up.
Support employee communications.
Provide project and administrative support to the People Operations team.
Participate in special assignments and process improvement initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
4+ years of progressive HR experience with a strong focus on employee relations.
Experience conducting workplace investigations from intake through findings and resolution.
Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
Strong written communication skills with the ability to create objective employee relations and investigation documentation.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively handle sensitive or emotional situations.
Demonstrated discretion, sound judgment, objectivity, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple employee relations matters simultaneously.
Ability to work independently while recognizing when matters should be escalated.
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification.
Investigation certification or formal investigation training.
Paralegal, JD, or employment law training.
Experience working with HRIS or employee relations case management systems.
Experience partnering with legal counsel.
Experience supporting employee engagement, employee experience, recognition, or workplace culture initiatives.
