Job Description
We're looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair diesel trucks and heavy equipment. This position will focus on inspections, diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and repairs on semi-trucks and tractor-trailers. The ideal candidate has strong diesel knowledge and can work independently while maintaining accurate records.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and diagnose diesel trucks and heavy equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service
- Repair and maintain semi-trucks and tractor-trailers
- Make repairs to engines, mechanical systems, and other components
- Perform testing and quality control after repairs
- Identify mechanical issues and determine appropriate repairs
- Document work performed accurately
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Assist with other heavy equipment repairs as needed
Qualifications
- 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and mechanical systems
- Experience working on semi-trucks and tractor-trailers preferred
- Heavy equipment experience is a plus
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to lift and perform physical mechanic duties
