Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• 3 months of travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is required.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is required.

• ADN completion required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Indiana license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >40 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

• No current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Deaconess Health.

Required Skills/Experience:
Recent Epic experience required.

Required Credentials:
Associate degree or certificate.

Unit Details:
Post-surgical patient population including Whipple, vascular, pre/post heart cath, bariatric, ENT, podiatry, open abdomen, dementia, AMS, CIWA/detox, fall-risk, and thyroid surgery patients.
Expected skills include PIV insertion, chest tube and indwelling drain management, CBI, stable drips (heparin, lasix, protonix), epidural management, ostomy care, blood product administration, telemetry interpretation, wound care (packing, wound vacs, dressing changes), and pre/post heart cath care (Fem./TR bands, no interventions).
Ratios: Days 1:5-6; nights 1:6-7; charge nurse takes a patient assignment.
Teaching hospital; may require precepting students and new hires.

Shift & Scheduling:
Three weekends out of every six-week schedule.
Every other holiday.
Flexible contract hours: 48 per week upon request.

Floating Requirements:
First to float within skillset. May float to Deaconess Newburgh (IN) campus and potentially to Deaconess Henderson (KY); campuses are 8-11 miles apart.
2-hour notice is given for cross-campus float. xhyhwjd Mid-shift float within the same campus may occur; cross-campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Manager reference required from within the last 12 months
