Director of Treasury (Head of Treasury) reporting to CFO Minneapolis, Minnesota Work Arrangement - Hybrid: 3 days in office / 2 days from home Base Salary - $180k to $230k Annual Bonus - 20% target Benefits - Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, unlimited vacation, and additional benefits Sponsorship - Not eligible for current or future employment sponsorship About the Opportunity We are partnering with a large, privately held organization to identify a Director of Treasury who will lead the treasury function and serve as a key financial partner to the CFO and senior leadership team. This is a highly visible opportunity for an experienced treasury leader who enjoys being both strategic and hands-on. The Director will oversee liquidity, cash management, debt and credit facilities, banking relationships, cash forecasting, working capital, financial risk, treasury controls, and related financial analysis. The organization operates in a complex environment with significant working capital requirements, multiple banking relationships, and a meaningful capital structure. The successful candidate will bring strong financial judgment, advanced analytical capabilities, and the ability to build disciplined and scalable treasury processes. This is not simply a bank administration role. The Director will be expected to understand the broader business, identify financial risks and opportunities, and provide thoughtful recommendations to executive leadership. Key Responsibilities Cash Flow, Liquidity & Forecasting Own daily and long-term cash and liquidity management. Develop and maintain a highly reliable 13-week cash flow forecast. Analyze forecast variances and continuously improve forecasting accuracy. Lead longer-term liquidity forecasting in partnership with FP&A, Accounting, Procurement, Operations, and other business leaders. Optimize cash balances, working capital availability, and deployment of excess cash. Provide leadership with clear visibility into current and future cash requirements. Debt, Credit Facilities & Capital Structure Manage credit facilities, revolver activity, term debt, interest payments, and other financing obligations. Maintain detailed debt schedules and ensure compliance with financing requirements. Lead analysis related to debt capacity, refinancing alternatives, interest expense, leverage, and capital structure. Partner with the CFO on refinancing activities, lender negotiations, syndications, amendments, and other financing initiatives. Manage covenant forecasting, compliance certificates, and lender reporting. Proactively identify potential liquidity or covenant risks and recommend appropriate actions. Banking Relationships Serve as the primary treasury contact for banking partners. Partner with the CFO in managing senior relationships across the organization's bank group. Evaluate banking services, fees, treasury products, deposit requirements, and overall banking economics. Lead bank account administration, authorized signer controls, and treasury governance. Identify opportunities to improve banking efficiency and reduce costs. Working Capital & Free Cash Flow Partner across Accounting, FP&A, Procurement, Sales, and Operations to improve working capital performance. Provide analytics and leadership around accounts receivable, inventory, accounts payable, and other significant uses of cash. Identify opportunities to improve the cash conversion cycle and free cash flow generation. Establish meaningful working capital KPIs and provide actionable reporting to executive leadership. Connect operational performance and business decisions to their impact on cash flow and liquidity. Treasury Operations, Controls & Technology Develop scalable treasury policies, processes, controls, and reporting. Maintain strong controls over wire transfers, ACH activity, bank accounts, investments, and other cash movements. Partner closely with Accounting on cash reconciliations, debt accounting, interest expense, and month-end reporting. Identify opportunities to automate and improve treasury processes and technology. Maintain appropriate segregation of duties and fraud-prevention controls. Financial Risk Management Evaluate exposure to interest rates, foreign currency, commodities, and other financial risks. Develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies where economically justified. Evaluate hedging alternatives and coordinate execution and reporting when appropriate. Provide clear and concise reporting and recommendations related to: Liquidity and available borrowing capacity Cash flow and forecasting Debt and leverage Working capital Interest expense and rates Banking relationships Financial and treasury risks The Director will also support executive, ownership, lender, and Board-level presentations as needed. Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will bring approximately 8+ years of progressive treasury, corporate finance, banking, or related experience, including meaningful responsibility for a treasury function. Experience may come from corporate treasury, corporate finance, commercial or corporate banking, or a combination of these environments. Strong candidates will likely have experience with several of the following: Cash and liquidity management 13-week cash flow forecasting Debt and credit facilities Syndicated credit facilities Covenant forecasting and compliance Banking and lender relationships Working capital and cash conversion Financial modeling and analysis Interest rate and other financial risk management Treasury controls and fraud prevention Treasury systems, automation, and banking technology Experience within manufacturing, distribution, consumer products, or another complex operating environment is preferred but not required. A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is required. An MBA, MAcc, CPA, CFA or CTP is a plus.
