In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert on complex accounting matters, ensuring the company's financial reporting complies with U.S. GAAP. You'll research technical accounting issues, draft position papers, and partner cross-functionally to support new transactions, business initiatives, and process improvements. This role is an opportunity to provide guidance and oversight on technical matters across the accounting team.You will:Research and document the company's accounting positions on complex or non-routine transactions (e.g., revenue recognition, equity transactions, debt/equity financing arrangements, consolidation)Draft clear, well-supported technical accounting memos and position papers for management and external auditorsMonitor emerging accounting standards (FASB updates, ASUs) and assess their impact on the company; lead implementation efforts for new standardsPartner with FP&A, Legal, Treasury, Accounting, and business teams to evaluate the accounting implications of new deals, contracts, and business initiativesSupport the month-end and quarter-end close process for areas involving technical accounting judgmentAssist the senior accountant & accountant with preparation of the monthly cash flow statement and debt covenant reportingPrepare annual impairment analyses on goodwill, intangible assets, ROU assets, and internal-use capitalized softwareAssist in the preparation of financial statement disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAPPartner with the senior manager of equity administration to prepare stock compensation and equity related schedules and disclosuresCoordinate with external valuation specialists on valuations as neededServe as a key point of contact for external auditors on technical accounting mattersDesign, document, and maintain accounting policiesAssist with development of internal control frameworkAssist the Chief Accounting Officer with annual insurance policies renewalsIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes and documentationProvide guidance and informal mentorship to other members of the accounting team on technical mattersYou bring:Bachelor's degree in Accounting5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting (Big 4 or national firm) and/or technical accounting experience in industryStrong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including revenue recognition (ASC 606), equity (ASC 480, ASC 815), and debt (ASC 470, ASC 815, ASC 825)Excellent research, analytical, and written communication skills; ability to translate complex accounting guidance into clear, practical recommendationsExperience preparing technical memos and supporting audit requestsComfortable working cross-functionally and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentExperience with disclosure/reporting toolsExtra credit:CPA licenseExperience in a pre-IPO company environmentExperience in health insurance environmentExposure to internal controls / SOX readinessExperience with ClaudeProficiency with Netsuite accounting softwareA Little More About Us:We know healthcare.
