Plant Controller

LHH is supporting our northside manufacturing client in their search for Plant Controller. Our client offers competitive compensation / benefits and a great culture. The Plant Controller operates as the CFO for the plant with a deep understanding and accountability to the Income Statement, Balance sheet and Cash flows of the plant. You will be an integral member of the Plant Leadership Team that is responsible for managing the financial operations of the Plant and providing financial direction, valuable insights, and recommendations to improve site performance. Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the month-end close process and conduct financial reviews with the Management team to ensure the accuracy of the financial results
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, operating reports, and management analysis
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, filing systems, and internal controls
• Coordinate external audit requests and supporting documentation
• Manage bank reconciliations, treasury forecasts, debt reporting, and timely debt payments
• Maintain the chart of accounts and ensure the accuracy of financial records
• Support required local, state, and federal reporting and tax filings
• Partner with plant leadership on physical inventories, cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and standard costs
• Monitor inventory movement and make appropriate accounting adjustments
• Prepare open-order, inventory, production, and financial reports
• Participate in weekly production meetings
• Lead budgeting and forecasting and report actual-to-budget variances
• Maintain project accounting and analyze profitability by project
• Develop financial and operational metrics to support management decision-making
• Process and report sales commissions and other operational accounting activities
• Manage and develop a four-person accounting team, including goal setting, staffing, and performance management

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, CPA or CMA designation preferred.
• 7+ years of combined accounting and finance experience
• 3+ years of hands-on accounting management experience
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures
• Experience preparing financial statements
• Strong general ledger and month-end/year-end close experience
• Manufacturing accounting experience, including inventory and cost accounting
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and integrity
