Commercial Door & Hardware Technician Requirements

• 2-3+ years of commercial door and hardware experience
• Experience installing:
• Hollow metal doors
• Hollow metal frames
• Locksets
• Cylinders
• Door closers
• Continuous hinges
• Exit devices / panic hardware
• Electric strikes
• Architectural hardware
• Ability to read plans and hardware schedules preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Install commercial doors and frames
• Install architectural hardware
• Install electrified hardware
• Complete service work and punch-list items
• Perform repairs and adjustments
• Assist with project completion and quality control
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, project managers, and customers

Employment Requirements

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with customers, coworkers, project management, inspectors, and general contractors.
• Must be able to understand and communicate jobsite instructions, plans, schedules, specifications, and safety requirements.
• If English is not your primary language, you must be willing and able to utilize available technology, including real-time translation tools, to ensure clear and effective communication at all times.
• Must be able to safely perform the physical demands of the position.
• Must be dependable, willing to learn, take direction, and maintain a professional attitude.
• Must be able to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
