Kitchen Manager

About the Role

As our Kitchen Manager , you’ll oversee the daily operations of our kitchen — managing inventory, supervising food preparation, maintaining quality standards, and leading a talented team of culinary staff. You’ll ensure that every dish meets our high standards for freshness, flavor, and presentation, while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

What You’ll Do

1. Oversee and coordinate all kitchen activities, ensuring food is prepared and served according to Uncle Giuseppe’s recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines
2. Manage and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment
3. Conduct hiring, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed
4. Maintain and monitor kitchen inventory, placing orders based on menu needs and business demand
5. Partner with department managers to develop menu items, set pricing, and determine portion sizes
6. Schedule shifts based on business needs, holidays, and special events
7. Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations
8. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment
9. Conduct regular inventories and implement measures to minimize waste
10. Perform additional duties and projects as assigned

Food Safety & Quality

1. Oversee all food safety, inventory, and quality assurance processes
2. Ensure food is stored, labeled, and handled according to proper safety standards
3. Monitor product quality and consistency throughout the day
4. Enforce food safety compliance among all team members

What We’re Looking For

1. HS Diploma or equivalent; a Culinary Degree/training is prefer
2. 5-7years of experience managing a high-volume kitchen
3. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
4. Excellent communication and organizational abilities
5. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
6. Food Safety Certification required
7. Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking)

Working Conditions

1. Frequent standing and movement on hard surfaces
2. Regular bending, reaching, and lifting up to 30 lbs. (with assistance for heavier items)
3. Exposure to varying temperatures from ovens, coolers, and freezers
4. Potential exposure to cleaning agents and sharp equipment
5. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
