Commercial Lines Account Manager

Brown & Brown is seeking a Commercial Lines Account Manager to join our growing team in Virginia Beach, VA. The Account Manager serves as the primary service contact for the client, providing customer service duties and coordinating with service specialists as needed. Key Responsibilities Build, expand, and solidify relationships with clients at all levels within the company. Lead appropriate resources to address client needs, including risk identification and resolution of underwriting or policy issues. Manage day‑to‑day account activities: accounts receivable, market renewals, negotiate premiums and coverages. Compile and create proposals, summaries, and additional documents as requested. Work closely with Producers and Marketing to achieve agreed‑upon goals for new and renewal business marketing. Develop and foster quality relationships with clients and teammates. Review, analyze, and resolve policy and coverage–related concerns for clients. Operate agency operating system and basic programs such as Word and Excel as needed. Meet requirements for licensing as directed by the branch. Consistently meet all Brown & Brown established quality control procedures and timelines. Licenses & Certifications Property & Casualty insurance license (obtain within 30 days of hire if not already held). Skills & Experience Minimum of 3+ years of experience in the insurance industry with a strong emphasis in commercial lines insurance preferred. Marine Insurance experience (preferred). College degree preferred but not required with appropriate work experience. Proficient with management operating systems that support insurance sales, tracking, and service. Proficient with Microsoft Tools, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint. Compensation Pay Range: $26.44 – $36.05 hourly (average range based on experience, geography, and budget).
