Aerospace Sheet Metal Fabrication Technician

Compensation, Schedule, Location

• Compensation: $22 – $30/hr DOE
• Schedules (Full-time):
  • Mon–Fri, 6:00 am–2:30 pm; overtime as needed
  • Mon–Thu, 2:00 pm–12:30 am; overtime as needed (includes $2 shift differential)
  • Initial training on Day shift (Mon–Fri) for approximately 4 weeks
• Location: Kent, WA

What you’ll handle

• Run fabrication equipment: saws, shears, punch presses, press brakes, grinders, and CNC systems (turret punch, routers, lasers)
• Set up/align equipment with shims, fixtures, supports, and tooling for accuracy
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, and specs
• Measure, mark, and lay out materials using rulers, squares, calipers, and related tools
• Inspect parts with micrometers, gauges, and templates to verify tight tolerances
• Troubleshoot and adjust machines to maintain process control
• Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe
• Follow company procedures, work instructions, and safety protocols
• Identify hazards and actively support a safe workplace
• Collaborate with teammates and leaders to meet production targets
• Provide training support to Level I operators (Level II only)
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Maintain consistent, reliable attendance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 1+ year of manufacturing or production experience preferred
• Hands-on experience with hand tools and material handling equipment
• Blueprint and technical document literacy
• Skilled with precision metrology: calipers, micrometers, gauges
• Familiarity with grinders, sanders, and other powered tools (preferred)
• Aerospace manufacturing experience is a plus
• Additional experience required for Level II placement

Physical demands

• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50–75 lbs (with assistance or equipment)
• Frequent hand use for tooling and inspection
• Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and reaching
• Strong visual acuity for measurement and inspection

Work environment

• Manufacturing shop with exposure to:
  • High noise levels (hearing protection required)
  • Dust, fumes, smoke, and airborne particles
  • Occasional temperature fluctuations
  • Heavy machinery and material handling equipment
• Required PPE: eye and hearing protection, gloves, safety footwear
• Position is considered safety-sensitive

Additional requirements

• Must be eligible to work under ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) guidelines
