This is an opportunity to work in a collaborative clinical environment, gain exposure to comprehensive pharmacy operations, and build a long-term career in healthcare — not just fill a role.Position SummaryTampa Family Health Centers is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support outpatient pharmacy operations under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist or the Director of Pharmacy Affairs.As a Pharmacy Technician at TFHC, you'll work alongside experienced pharmacists and care teams who value accuracy, teamwork, and service. This role includes assisting with prescription dispensing, inventory management, insurance verification, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements. If you're motivated by purpose, stability, and growth, this role delivers all three.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAccurately prepare and dispense medications in accordance with pharmacy SOPsIdentify medications from stock, count correct quantities, and prepare prescription labelsVerify patient eligibility with insurance plans and third-party payers and calculate costs as neededAnswer incoming calls and respond to routine questions, escalating complex inquiries to the pharmacistAssist with patient education materials under pharmacist supervisionSupport refill authorization requests and communication with providers and care team membersMaintain accurate records and assist with quality control and quality assurance activitiesManage daily pharmacy operations, including inventory, supplies, and cash handlingEnsure compliance with HIPAA, Florida Board of Pharmacy regulations, and all state and federal requirementsMaintain a clean, organized, and professional work environmentPromote positive relationships with patients, visitors, and the communitySupport the mission, vision, and values of Tampa Family Health CentersRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentAbility to read, write, and speak English fluently requiredPharmacy Technician Certification from an approved technical school or a minimum of six months of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacyCurrent BLS certification or ability to obtain and maintain certificationAbility to complete required 340B University training within the first two weeks of employment and maintain annual renewalsProficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic health recordsKnowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and ability to perform basic pharmacy mathSkills & AbilitiesStrong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent communication and customer service skillsAbility to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgroundsAbility to work efficiently in a moderately fast-paced clinical environmentTeam-oriented mindset with adaptability to changing prioritiesWork Environment & Physical RequirementsAbility to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workdayOccasional lifting of up to 25 poundsModerate noise level and exposure to a clinical healthcare settingAbility to maintain focus and accuracy during prolonged periods of concentrationBenefits & RewardsMedical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceLife and Disability InsuranceGenerous Paid Time Off7 paid company holidays401(k) program with employer contribution after one yearEmployee Assistance ProgramProfessional development and career growth opportunitiesIf you're looking for more than just another pharmacy job and want to be part of a mission-driven organization where your work truly matters, we encourage you to apply and join Tampa Family Health Centers.Please note that employee's initial training schedule may differ from the regular schedule of the position.
