CHEP is looking for a motivated Operations Supervisor on 2nd Shift to join our team in Scarborough, MA! Key Responsibilities May Include: Provide hands-on leadership by mentoring, coaching, and guiding employees, addressing employee relations issues, and fostering a positive and productive work environment. Lead and enhance safety performance on shift, promoting a proactive safety culture through training, accident prevention, and rehabilitation programs, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Manage shift maintenance activities, resolving equipment breakdowns in coordination with the maintenance team to maintain uninterrupted plant operations. Drive continuous improvement initiatives on shift, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness across end to end operations. Monitor and manage the plant's operational costs and yield, working closely with the Plant Manager to optimize performance and contribute to the overall plant objectives. Address performance and attendance matters in collaboration with HR, ensuring that all plant staff meet operational expectations. Ensure full compliance with CHEP procedures and work instructions, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and in line with company standards and operational goals. As a Plant Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for assisting the Plant Manager in managing total plant operations and delivering superior customer satisfaction by driving results and exceeding expectations in the key areas of safety, service, quality and cost. What You Will Do Supervise the work of all production employees – oversees production and shipping schedules based on availability of raw and finished goods. Provide hands-on leadership as a supervisor, responsible for mentoring and coaching all employees and working through employee relations issues. Support plant administration to ensure compliance to established policies Responsible, in consultation with Plant Manager, for the cost and yield performance of the Plant in partnership with the overall P&L of the Plant. Support cost control initiatives and process control within the Plant. Review operations activities, including local transportation activities, to maintain compliance with all Federal, State and local laws (OSHA, DOL, DOJ, EPA, FD) Drive Safety improvements (Zero Harm) across the Plant Ensure the consistent execution of all SOPs throughout the Plant in accordance with the PMS Commercial Organization, Global Supply Chain Deliver best operational practices and cost efficiencies across the Plant while maintaining critical quality and raw material utilization standards that are necessary to maintain customer satisfaction and Plant profitability. Ensure compliance through teamwork for all Standard Operating Procedures within the Plant Identify Lean opportunities to effectively eliminate waste In partnership with Plant Manager, provide leadership to Plant staff to effectively recruit, train, develop, evaluate, motivate, delegate and monitor their activities Drive efficiencies in asset utilization through proper transportation scheduling, dispatch, & driver management while meeting customer expectations What You Will Bring Qualifications: Bachelors in Operations/Supply Chain -or- relevant experience in a related field Six Sigma/Lean certification desirable Experience: Prior experience in a plant supervisory role in an engineering or manufacturing environment Familiarity with private fleet management/transportation is helpful Strong customer focus orientation Strong people management capability including non-exempt production workforce Demonstrated success in delivering strong employee relations Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally Experience managing safety performance and programs Understanding of supply chain practices and metrics Language: English Required; French & Portuguese Desirable What To Expect Additional Site Details: 2nd Shift Monday-Friday 3:30pm-12am 3-shift operations with 60+ employees total Supervisor will oversee 30-35 employees on shift Pallet sorts: 60,000 per week; Pallet repairs: 35,000 per week What We Offer Competitive Pay w/ Shift Differential Benefits Day 1! 401K w/ company match (up to 4%) FREE company-paid vision, short-term disability, and life insurance! Compensation Statement: The salary range for this position is $62,000 to $85,000. Compensation ranges provided take into account a wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications, geographic differentials and other business and organizational needs. Therefore, actual amounts offered may be higher or lower than the range provided.
