Chief Financial OfficerBH Properties is a privately held commercial real estate investment firm focused on value-add acquisitions in office, industrial, and retail, and through its subsidiary Haven Housing, multi-family properties throughout the Western United States. The Company is vertically integrated, with offices in Los Angeles, Riverside, San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle, Phoenix, Dallas, and Houston, and is able to acquire and close transactions without the need for lengthy due diligence periods. Our 32-year track-record and balance sheet allow us to move quickly and creatively, structuring acquisitions to satisfy seller needs in a highly competitive market. Today, the Company owns and operates approximately 12M square feet of commercial space and 3,500 residential units across 18 states.Location: Los Angeles, CAResponsibilitiesManage cash flow projections ensuring availability of funds.Assist in managing Company relationships with banks, institutions and other financial partners along with assisting in identifying new lending sources focused on the residential sector.Participate with the Company's in-house finance team on all financings being considered.Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting to banks and other financial partners.Ensure compliance with loan covenants.Prepare and participate in financial presentations to banks and other financial partners.Propose action plans to ensure that financial objectives are attained.Work with the senior leadership team in the preparation of the long-term financial goals, annual plans, budgets and projections.Leverage on past and existing networks to provide insight and recommendations to manage both short-term and long-term goals of the Company.Assist in developing a capitalization strategy for new acquisitions and existing owned assets.Create strategic initiatives that generate additional opportunities for the company through external relationships, which may include speaking engagements, and participation in select industry organizations/entities.Assess financial risks and recommend strategies to mitigate those risks.Respond to financial related questions from lenders, and other stakeholders.Partner with other internal departments to ensure that communications and presentation materials are accurate.Ensure budget and forecast models are accurate.Execute special projects and ad hoc analyses as needed.Qualifications:Undergraduate degree is required in accounting or business-related field.Both a CPA and graduate degree a plus.15 + years of experience in real estate accounting or related field with experience in multi-family operations and financial reportingExperience with both Fannie and Freddie Mac loan process / programsLikely candidates will have come through an accounting or finance backgroundFamiliar with the 1031 Exchange process.Experience in Yardi software a plus.Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and multi-task.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.Ability to communicate effectively and professionally within all levels of the organization and externally with lenders and other outside parties.Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.Ability to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.Must possess a strong work ethic.Must be a team player.Travel required (10%)Compensation: $225,000-$300,000 We offer an excellent compensation package, an exciting opportunity, and the chance to grow and develop with a well-capitalized entrepreneurial investment group.
