Title Marriage and Family Therapist – Sacramento State Prison (SAC) Location & Work Setting California State Prison, Sacramento (Represa, CA) Salary $7,294.00 – $10,378.00 per month Core Responsibilities The duties of this role are described in the unsupplemented Duty Statement (not included in this excerpt). The therapist will provide direct mental health services, case management, and therapeutic interventions to inmates in a correctional setting. Minimum Qualifications Valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science Completion of the required assessment and examination for the Marriage and Family Therapist role (state certification exam) Background investigation and live‑scan fingerprinting upon hiring TB testing prior to appointment with annual testing thereafter Completion of all required forms and documentation (STD 678, supporting transcripts, license proof) Desirable Qualifications Associate Marriage & Family Therapist license issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science Prior experience in a correctional or forensic mental health setting Evidence of ongoing professional development and specialized training in family therapy techniques Application Process Submit the complete application package—including the State Examination/Employment Application (STD678), required academic transcripts, license documentation, and background check authorization—through your CalCareer account at Hard copy applications may be mailed or dropped off at the listed addresses.
