Requirements Schedule: • 9am-9pm • No On-Call Hours Dates: • December 23rd orientation, December 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th 9a-9pm • Possible future dates Qualifications/Certifications/Training/Skills: • Satisfactory completion of a PA/NP program • Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner in the State of Michigan • State of Michigan controlled substance license required • Current DEA registration required • AHA approved BLS, ACLS and ATLS • Candidates must have experience as a PA/NP in an emergency department setting that includes adults and children as well as competence with performing standard emergency department procedures. Primary Responsibilities: • Assess and treat patients in the emergency department, perform triage, stabilization, and emergency procedures as required, provide rapid clinical decision-making in high-pressure situations, work collaboratively with the nurses, specialists, and support staff to deliver high-quality care, documentation of patient interactions and treatment plans in the hospitals EMR. • PA/NP works in main ER department; no dedicated fast tract/express care • Covers Provider in Triage role when volume demands • Single PA/NP coverage working with 1-2 board certified Emergency Medicine Physicians in the department. Desired skills: • Experience with fast-paced, high acuity ED • Ability to work under pressure • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work as part of a team Ancillary services available to support the ED: • Radiology, Laboratory, Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, Case Management, Physical Therapy, Mental Health, Trauma Surgery, Cardiology, Neurology, Orthopedics, Infectious Disease, OBGYN, Anesthesiology, etc. Description of Community: • Marquette is on the Southern shores of Lake Superior, voted #7 of the 20 best places to live by Outdoor Life Magazine.
