This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented legal professional with significant experience supporting trademark, patent, and intellectual property portfolio management matters.The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of USPTO procedures, intellectual property prosecution, docket management, and client communication. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated intellectual property matters while collaborating with attorneys, clients, and international service providers.Key ResponsibilitiesTrademark SupportPrepare and file U.S. trademark applications, renewals, declarations of use, and related USPTO filingsMonitor trademark prosecution and renewal deadlinesConduct preliminary trademark searches and assist with search report analysisPrepare trademark status reports and portfolio summariesCoordinate foreign trademark filings with international associatesPatent SupportAssist attorneys with U.S. and foreign patent prosecution mattersPrepare and file patent application documents and related correspondenceTrack patent deadlines and filing requirementsCoordinate patent filings with clients and foreign associatesMaintain patent prosecution records and supporting documentationIP Docketing & Portfolio ManagementManage relationships with outside IP docketing vendorsOversee docketing systems and maintain intellectual property databasesMonitor critical deadlines and communicate upcoming action itemsCoordinate renewals, annuities, and maintenance fee paymentsReview and audit IP portfolio records for accuracyClient SupportCommunicate directly with clients regarding filing requirements and deadlinesGenerate intellectual property portfolio reportsCoordinate filing fees, invoices, and foreign associate billingAssist attorneys with special projects and due diligence reviewsQualificationsRequired5+ years of Intellectual Property Paralegal experienceExtensive experience with trademark prosecution and portfolio managementStrong knowledge of USPTO rules, procedures, and electronic filing systemsExperience working with IP docketing softwareExcellent organizational and deadline management skillsStrong written and verbal communication abilitiesProficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteBachelor's degree and/or Paralegal CertificatePreferredExperience supporting both trademark and patent prosecutionFamiliarity with foreign trademark and patent filingsExperience assisting with IP due diligence in corporate transactionsKnowledge of intellectual property management systemsCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary: $90,000 - $110,000 annuallyPerformance-based bonus opportunitiesComprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and 401(k)Paid time off and paid holidaysProfessional development and career growth opportunitiesHybrid work flexibilityIf you are an experienced Intellectual Property Paralegal, Trademark Paralegal, Patent Paralegal, or IP Portfolio Specialist seeking a new opportunity in the Chicago area, we encourage you to apply today.
