Senior Analyst, Business Systems

Senior Business Systems Analyst supporting omics research at a pharmaceutical company. This role bridges Discovery stakeholders, data scientists, and technology teams to enable systems and workflows for managing complex scientific data in genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics research.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Discovery stakeholders and IT to understand strategic objectives, operational needs, and improvement opportunities for omics processes
• Elicit, analyze, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements; translate them into user stories and acceptance criteria
• Own and maintain omics systems, ensuring optimization and compliance; engage vendors on enhancements and issue resolution
• Facilitate alignment among business, data, engineering, and IT teams to ensure requirements are clear and delivery-ready
• Exercise independent judgment to evaluate problems, recommend solutions, and balance scientific, business, and technical considerations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in genomics, bioinformatics, molecular biology, or related life science discipline; or computer science/information systems with life science research experience
• 5+ years business systems analysis, consulting, product ownership, or technology delivery experience
• Foundational understanding of omics research workflows and data concepts
• Experience eliciting, documenting, and managing business and functional requirements
• Ability to facilitate stakeholder discussions and translate scientific needs into technology solutions
• Understanding of SDLC methodologies, Agile practices, and enterprise software delivery
• Working knowledge of LLMs, generative AI, and traditional AI/ML applications
