Chef De Cuisine Requirements & Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive culinary experience, including 2+ years in a senior kitchen leadership role (Sous Chef or above)
• Proven background in an upscale casual, polished casual, or fine dining environment
• Proficiency in food cost management, scheduling, and kitchen financials
• Formal culinary training preferred; culinary degree or ACF Certified Chef De Cuisine (CCC) a plus
• ServSafe certification required or obtainable within 60 days of hire
• Demonstrated success in leading, motivating, and developing diverse kitchen teams
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially with FOH leadership
• Familiarity with kitchen management systems (POS integration, inventory platforms)

Chef De Cuisine Preferred Background & Skills

• Strong passion for approachable, ingredient-driven cuisine and menu innovation
• Experience building relationships with local purveyors and sourcing high-quality ingredients

Chef De Cuisine Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Design and evolve seasonal menus with a refined, approachable culinary identity
• Source and manage high-quality, local and seasonal ingredients in partnership with trusted purveyors
• Oversee all daily kitchen operations, ensuring prep, execution, and service flow meet high standards
• Manage food cost targets, inventory controls, and vendor relationships within budget
• Lead the kitchen during service by expediting, managing ticket flow, and upholding quality
• Train and mentor culinary staff, oversee scheduling, and support career development within the team
• Foster a positive, respectful, and accountable kitchen culture
• Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health inspection standards
