Role Description This is a full‑time, on‑site Paralegal role based in New Orleans, LA. The Paralegal will support attorneys in all phases of defense litigation, including drafting and formatting legal documents, preparing pleadings and discovery responses, and organizing case files. Daily responsibilities include conducting legal and factual research, reviewing and summarizing documents, and assisting with deposition, mediation, and trial preparation. The Paralegal will coordinate with attorneys, clients, experts, and court personnel, manage deadlines and calendars, and maintain accurate case records. The role also involves proofreading and cite‑checking, preparing exhibits, and assisting with electronic filing in state and federal courts. Qualifications Strong foundation in law and litigation procedures, with the ability to understand and apply legal concepts in defense‑focused matters. Proficiency in legal document preparation, including drafting pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and trial materials. Ability to perform thorough research and document review, including summarizing records, analyzing evidence, and organizing findings. Effective written and verbal communication skills to interact professionally with attorneys, clients, experts, and court personnel. High attention to detail, strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Proficiency with legal software, electronic filing systems, and standard office productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office). Paralegal certificate or relevant academic background in legal studies; prior litigation or insurance defense experience is required. Experience will billing time.
