Respiratory Therapist II

Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, including medication administration, ventilator management, and patient assessment in critical care settings. They deliver patient-centered care tailored to diverse needs, educate patients and support staff, and participate in staff development and quality improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Perform patient assessments, verify orders, and administer therapies such as aerosolized medications and oxygen therapy. Manage ventilators, including weaning and waveform interpretation, and handle airway procedures like intubation and tracheostomy care. Conduct arterial blood gas sampling and analysis. Educate patients and mentor new employees, students, and peers. Collaborate with healthcare teams and promote a safe, quality environment through adherence to policies and evidence-based practices. Support performance improvement and maintain accurate documentation. Qualifications & Skills Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (preferred). Certifications: NBRC-RRT, Respiratory Care Professional, BLS, and ACLS. 0-2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care.
