Nurse Practitioner - Per Diem

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Nurse Practitioner will be required to do consults and follow-ups with hematology and oncology patients, and oversee chemotherapy infusion, injection, and oral medication. They will be expected to perform oncological procedures as needed. This position requires the candidate be the provider working with the practice nurse in overseeing clinical trials, research patients and will participate in continuous quality improvement efforts. This candidate will aid the physician in following the patient's treatments, getting results, and working in a collaborative nature with the primary medical oncologist to build the practice. Performs administrative and clinical tasks to support the work of Med Onc.Physician.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• NYS Licensed Nurse Practitioner
• 5+ years' experience in Medical Oncology
• Experience in a clinical setting preferred
• Medical Marijuana certification preferred, or willingness to obtain
• Ability to effectively interrelate with all members of the healthcare team
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Clinical expertise and evaluation skills
• Current BLS & ACLS provider certification from the American Heart Association required

• Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services*
• Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
• Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen*
• Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre employment screenings.
• Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).

Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.
