Marketing Liaison

Marketing and Public Relations Manager

The primary purpose of this position is to develop, coordinate, direct, and administer the facility's marketing and public relations programs and services.

Essential duties include:

• Maintaining a current listing of all resident care employee phone numbers.
• Planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the facility's public relations and marketing programs to maintain and increase census and provide the community with accurate information about the facility, its programs, and services.
• Developing and maintaining written policies and procedures that govern the release of information concerning residents, employees, and the facility in accordance with current privacy rules and regulations.
• Assisting department directors in developing and using marketing and public relations policies and procedures; establishing rapport between departments to ensure all staff understand their role in these programs.
• Reviewing marketing and public relations policies annually and recommending updates as necessary.
• Assisting in the development, implementation, and tracking of customer satisfaction surveys.
• Interpreting and communicating facility policies regarding information release to employees, residents, family members, visitors, and government agencies.
• Ensuring all public materials (manuals, brochures, information packets, etc.) are accurate and up to date.
• Organizing and maintaining internal communications using bulletin boards, newsletters, committee meetings, and announcements.
• Scheduling and participating in departmental meetings related to marketing and public relations activities.
• Providing creative support for activity and social services departments in developing resident programs and publications.
• Maintaining positive relationships with families, residents, and community and civic leaders.
• Participating in community and civic groups to promote facility engagement and charitable activities.
• Coordinating with news media to share positive developments, new programs, or promotions.
• Keeping the Administrator informed of media coverage or public information that could impact the facility.
• During emergencies, establishing a public relations area to ensure accurate and policy-compliant information release.
• Assisting in planning, conducting, and scheduling in-service training, orientation, and on-the-job training related to marketing and public relations.
• Creating and maintaining an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis throughout the facility.
• Following ergonomics and safety policies related to lifting, repetitive tasks, and equipment use.
• Preparing and managing the departmental operating budget in collaboration with the Administrator.
• Serving on committees as directed by the Administrator.
• Maintaining confidentiality of all resident information, including protected health information.
• Interpreting and communicating resident rights to residents, families, and staff as appropriate.

Supervisory requirements include direct or indirect supervisory responsibilities.

Qualification:

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent. Five years of experience in marketing/public relations in a healthcare setting may be accepted in lieu of a degree.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.

Physical demands include:

• Must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.

• Prolonged use of a desktop or laptop computer.

• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, read, and hear. Frequent use of office equipment including copier, scanner, fax, telephone, and calculator.

• May be required to assist in resident evacuation during emergencies.
