SALES MANAGER

REPORTS TO: Store Director

BASED AT: 303A University Drive East, College Station, TX 77845

JOB PURPOSE

Add value to the company by providing strong leadership to the sales team and driving the achievement of sales goals. Develop sales talent among store staff through effective training, coaching, and motivation. Build relationships with customers and the community while serving as a positive and professional representative of Aggieland Outfitters. Serve as the store's leading expert on product knowledge and ensure sales staff are well-informed about current products, promotions, and sales initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as a member of the Leadership Team, demonstrating and upholding Aggieland Outfitters' core values of Adaptability, Genuine Passion, Gratitude, Integrity, Excellence Together and Service, in all aspects of the role
• Perform all management responsibilities in a professional, consistent and effective manner
• Maximize store profitability by establishing and achieving sales targets and leading the sales team to meet or exceed performance goals
• Provide consistent and frequent communication to guide all employees towards a shared vision, goals, and expectations
• Partner closely with the Store Director on hiring, employee scheduling, staffing decisions, and day-to-day store operations
• Address and resolve issues or concerns that arise with staff or customers in a professional and timely manner
• Drive employee performance through ongoing coaching, counseling, performance management, and accountability, including monitoring and evaluating job results
• Lead in-store merchandising and product presentation initiatives to maximize visual appeal, product visibility, and sales performance
• Continuously monitor customer purchasing trends and preferences and communicate insights to the Buying Team
• Provide guidance on pricing strategies and sales opportunities, including recommendations for product markdowns and price reductions
• Develop leadership in others through positive communication aimed at motivating and coaching sales staff
• Support the Internal Audit department in their efforts to strengthen company processes
• Oversee retail sales operations, but not responsible for operating the register or processing sales transactions

• High attention to detail and task-oriented
• Self-motivated and able to motivate, coach and lead others in a team environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent planning, organization and time-management abilities
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Management preferred or equivalent Management experience.
• Previous customer service experience preferred, with a proven track record in sales and a demonstrated ability to meet or exceed revenue targets
• Demonstrates a high level of energy and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, which will include evenings, weekends and holidays, game days, graduations, ring day, special events. Regular weekend availability is required.
