Industrial Maintenance Technician

Talascend is currently seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Dayton, Ohio .


Overview


This role involves inspecting and maintaining manufacturing machinery and equipment, troubleshooting, performing calibrations, and ensuring the safe operation of production systems.


Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain manufacturing machinery and equipment
• Interpret schematics, prints, diagrams, and oral instructions to perform tasks
• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning systems and identify hazards
• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance, as well as calibrations
• Prepare new machines and production equipment for operation
• Disassemble machines and repair or replace broken parts
• Perform welding, grinding, and flame cutting activities
• Work as part of a team and contribute to the maintenance team and facility overall
• Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as pneumatic tools, motors, conveyor systems, and production machines using testing instruments, hand/power tools, and precision-measuring instruments
• Operate tool room equipment including lathe, mill, and drill presses
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment
• Comply with company procedures, rules, and regulations
• Perform all other duties as assigned by supervision

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years experience as an industrial maintenance technician/machine repairman or related work
• Strong verbal and oral communication skills
• Ability to read blueprints and design schematics
• Ability to work in a safety-focused environment
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job
• Working knowledge of mechanical systems
• Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
