HR Generalist

Hometown Health Centers is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our team! This is a great opportunity for a well-rounded HR professional who wants to play an important role in supporting employees and managers while helping strengthen HR processes across a mission-driven healthcare organization. What You'll Do
- Administer employee benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA, and retirement plans.
- Assist employees with benefits, enrollment, qualifying life events, and coverage questions.
- Manage and track FMLA, NY Paid Family Leave, disability, workers' compensation, and other leaves of absence.
- Maintain employee information and employment changes in UKG.
- Support employees and managers with UKG and HR-related questions.
- Coordinate new-hire onboarding, orientation, employee changes, and offboarding.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
- Support employee relations, performance management, corrective action, and workplace investigations.
- Assist with HR compliance, audits, employee communications, and special projects.
- Work closely with employees, managers, payroll, benefits vendors, and HR leadership.
- 3-5 years of progressive HR experience.
- Associate degree required; bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Strong experience with benefits administration and leave management.
- Knowledge of New York State and federal employment requirements.
- UKG experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Professional, approachable, and service-oriented.
- Healthcare, nonprofit, or union experience is a plus.
