Department: ULTRASOUND TECH

"General Certification Requirements (BLS, etc.) Current BLS required

"Specialty Certifications: Both accrediting bodies are acceptable: ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) or Certification in Sonography by the American Association of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) usually RVT (Registered Vascular Tech)

RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer): Certification through ARDMS - Required

VS (Vascular Sonographer) -Certification through ARDMS (RVT/VT) - Required

OB (Obstetric ) Certification through ARDMS (OB/GYN) - Required

RVT (Registered Vascular Tech) See above

Will they have to float/cover any other areas? No
Common types of imaging/studies performed & Job Duties All routine/General exam along with OB
Experience or 'Must have' skills: Vascular experience preferred for Carotid, DVT, ABI/TBI vascular studies
Average # of studies per day: 6-8 exams in 8 hour day
EMR &/or PACS (Picture Archive & Communication System: software & hardware) do they use EPIC for EMR, SECTRA PACS
Department Specific Equipment: Client Logiq E10 ultrasound machines, Parks FloLab Medical Doppler
Radiology Supervisor or Lead Tech? Supervisor and Lead Sonographer
Do they have to start IV's? (if applicable to the department): N/A
Shifts & Scheduling: Wednesday through Sunday 1500-2330
Weekend Requirement: Yes for some schedules
Holiday Requirement: Yes
