ROLE: Manager, Recruitment POSITION REPORTS TO: Senior Managing Director, Recruitment LOCATION: Ohio - Cincinnati, Cleveland, or Columbus preferred What You’ll Do Teach For America (TFA) seeks a dynamic Recruitment Manager to lead efforts in Ohio and Northern Kentucky, attracting leaders to join the corps and advance educational opportunities in the region. The role involves executing a targeted recruitment strategy, building brand awareness, and leading community‑based initiatives that reflect local community needs. What You’ll Be Responsible For Set and execute recruitment strategy across Ohio and Northern Kentucky (15%) Develop and execute a strategy that strengthens TFA’s presence at colleges, universities, and community‑based organizations in the region. Identify and carry out branding opportunities and campaigns to elevate TFA’s visibility. Build partnerships with alumni, faculty, student organizations, and nonprofits to mobilize outreach. Work across teams to improve strategy using data‑based tools, identifying gaps and opportunities within campaigns. Make decisions regarding the selection process through all stages of the application funnel. Identify and cultivate high‑potential Corps Member prospects (35%) Source and engage top local talent through proactive outreach and stakeholder referrals. Identify campaign levers to increase impact (e.g., partnering with Career Services, prioritizing social impact summits). Tailor communication to diverse audiences with compelling messaging. Initiate and nurture relationships with potential network partners to reinforce commitment to educational opportunity. Plan and execute recruitment events that support campaign goals and drive candidate engagement. Execute recruitment strategies to drive applications and steward candidates through the admissions process (35%) Build individualized relationships with prospective candidates, ensuring completion of the application and commitment to the corps. Collaborate with teammates across the Midwest Recruitment Hub to provide seamless support from interest to confirmation. Guide candidates through the admissions process, ensuring readiness for systemic change. Lead across the movement (15%) Participate in organizational commitments, including selection, confirmation, and regional team meetings. Support Ohio team operations and local initiatives such as Ignite or alumni events, data entry, interview support, and matriculation planning. Stay informed about the educational landscape in Ohio and Northern Kentucky, using context to guide conversations with prospects. Engage in cross‑team collaboration, fostering a culture of belonging, learning, and results. Steward resources in compliance with employee policies and expectations.

A WEEK IN THE LIFE

The Recruitment Manager will actively recruit at college campuses or through nonprofit partnerships, traveling to partner meetings, hosting career panels, tabling at fairs, and coaching candidates through their final application steps. Events are organized, data collected, authentic relationships built, and strategies adjusted to meet regional recruitment targets. Your Experience Prior Experience At least 2 years of professional experience. Teach For America alumni and/or experience working in low‑income schools in Ohio or Northern Kentucky strongly preferred. Prior recruitment experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficient in planning, execution, and strategy design for key initiatives such as in‑person events and campus partnerships. Exceptionally detail‑oriented, managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality. Skilled at building nurturing relationships across diverse groups to achieve meaningful outcomes. Able to communicate clearly and persuasively in various settings, tailoring messaging to engage audiences. Comfortable navigating in‑person and virtual spaces across geographies and organizations. Committed to personal and professional growth, reflective and receptive to feedback. Familiarity with the Ohio and Northern Kentucky higher education landscape strongly preferred. Work Demands Travel will be required; frequent travel to multiple locations for work. Ability to travel independently and transport necessary items. Occasional evening and weekend work required. Ability to lift and transport up to 20 pounds for work purposes.
