- Conduct thorough evaluations using both standardized assessments and observational methods across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics.
- Craft individualized treatment plans that cater to immediate goals and long-range communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
- Deliver focused one-on-one speech therapy aimed at improving communication, language abilities, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing functions.
- Engage in collaborative efforts with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, families, and caregivers to devise harmonized care strategies.
- Provide essential education to patients and families, enhancing their understanding and support during the therapy process.
- Occasionally assist with inpatient evaluations and treatments, ensuring seamless care throughout the patient's journey.
- Maintain precise and prompt documentation in alignment with state, federal, and organizational criteria.
- Keep abreast of the latest industry advancements by participating in continued education opportunities and professional collaboration.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited educational institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet achieved.
- Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hiring.
- Strong proficiency in evidence-based methodologies for treating individuals of varying ages, along with a comprehensive knowledge of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills for interacting with patients, their families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Capable of tailoring therapy techniques to respect diverse cultural and language backgrounds.
- Exhibits strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and relevant documentation protocols.
