Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 weeks with possible extension) | Rotating Days and Nights (4x12-hour shifts, 7:00–19:00 / 19:00–7:00) | Onsite | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a high-volume Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit serving complex medicine, orthopedic overflow, and long-term patients at a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7
• Perform telemetry monitoring on the unit and participate in Rapid Response and Code team activations
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, surgical drains, feeding tubes, and blood product administration
• Provide wound care including wound vac management, tracheostomy management, and respiratory support including High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
• Administer and monitor Heparin protocols and care for patients with temporary and permanent pacemakers
• Float to other units as required and fulfill charge nurse responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN license — must be in hand at time of submission, no exceptions
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience with demonstrated patient ratio experience of 1:6
• Charge nurse experience required
• Active BLS and NIHSS certifications — valid NIHSS must be included at time of submission
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health records — required, no exceptions
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with orthopedic trauma and total joint replacement patient populations
• Proficiency in phlebotomy, isolation precautions, and portable oxygen and oxygen mask management
• Prior travel nursing experience; first-time travelers with qualifying experience will be considered
