Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience on the cardiac floor required.

License: Active RN license

Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Must-Have:

• Minimum 2 years of experience on the cardiac floor
• Traveler experience required unless the traveler has more than 24 months of cardiac experience
• Strong skills in cardiac telemetry, PCU/stepdown, sheath removal, and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Ability to manage cardiac drips and perform post-MI, pre/post cardiac cath procedures

Description:

RTO after booking is not allowed. Any call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation. Ratios vary per acuity, with 1:4 for surgical step-down and 1:5-6 for lower acuity. Contract staff will be expected to work during catastrophic events or disasters. Patient diagnoses include:

• Atrial fibrillation
• Congestive heart failure
• Acute coronary syndrome
• Coronary artery disease
• Aortic stenosis/regurgitation
• Mitral regurgitation/stenosis
• Endocarditis
• Cardiomyopathy
• Peripheral vascular disease
• Vasculitis

Special procedures include:

• CABG
• Aortic valve replacement
• Mitral valve replacement
• Transcatheter aortic valve replacement
• Watchman procedure
• Thoracic surgeries
• Post cardiac procedures

Equipment includes:

• Arterial lines
• EKG
• Chest tubes
• Epicardial pacing wires

Preferred skills include:

• Arterial line management
• Wound care and wound vac management
• Charge experience
