Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care in a combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department with mixed/shared acuity levels at a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Perform phlebotomy and IV placement — mandatory competencies required for all RNs in this role
• Manage and interpret dysrhythmias; administer emergency medications including IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, continuous IV paralytics, and procedural sedation
• Provide care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, CVA, and those requiring blood product administration and central line care/management
• Maintain strict isolation precautions as indicated by patient condition
• Float to other units when census warrants

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered New York State RN license — must be in hand at time of submission; pending licenses are not accepted
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience (first-time travelers accepted)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic EMR experience is a hard requirement
• Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy, IV insertion, central line care, blood product administration, and management of dysrhythmias
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with procedural sedation administration and IV vasopressor management
• Background in combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department settings
• Familiarity with CVA protocols and multisystem organ failure management
