Work Environment

This role is located onsite at our state-of-the-art Rehabilitation Facility in Brentwood, ensuring you have access to contemporary equipment and rehabilitation tools essential for effective treatment. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians and other healthcare professionals, in a supportive atmosphere. The typical work schedule is outpatient-focused, Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a predictable routine conducive to both work-life balance and efficient patient management.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and Assess Patients: Conduct thorough evaluations of patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries or dealing with injuries, focusing on their movement, strength, and range of motion, using established evaluation methods to determine their rehabilitation needs.
• Develop Personalized Treatment Plans: Collaborate with patients to create individualized rehabilitation plans that align with their medical history, personal goals, and physical abilities, ensuring each patient feels empowered in their recovery process.
• Implement Treatment: Utilize evidence-based interventions, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities such as ultrasound or electrical stimulation, tailored to each patient's unique rehabilitation goals.
• Patient Education: Educate patients regarding their conditions, recovery timelines, and necessary home exercise programs, enabling them to take an active role in their rehabilitation journey.
• Track Progress: Monitor and document patient progress through functional outcomes, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal recovery and progression toward rehabilitation goals.
• Collaborate with a Team: Engage with a diverse team of healthcare professionals, including orthopedic surgeons and athletic trainers, to coordinate integrated care and share insights to enhance patient outcomes.
• Documentation and Compliance: Maintain detailed records for all patient interactions and treatments, adhering to clinic policies, state regulations, and ethical guidelines in documentation practices.
• Stay Current: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities, including workshops and training, to stay informed about advancements in orthopedic rehabilitation techniques and practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with patients undergoing rehabilitation from a variety of orthopedic conditions. Our clientele includes individuals recovering from surgery, those with chronic pain conditions, and patients needing post-operative care. Your expertise will directly affect their recovery trajectory, helping them regain mobility and independence, which ultimately improves their quality of life.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
• A valid California Physical Therapy License (current or eligibility to obtain).
• Strong foundation in orthopedic rehabilitation practices, including manual therapy and knowledge of musculoskeletal disorders.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and their families, building rapport and trust.

Preferred Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in orthopedic rehabilitation.
• Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) certification or similar recognized credentials.
• Experience with post-operative orthopedic rehabilitation, and familiarity with modalities such as dry needling and therapeutic ultrasound.
• The ability to work both independently and as a part of a collaborative healthcare team.

Compensation and Benefits
