About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: Minimum 1 year; first-timers accepted License: GA or Compact license required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Experience in Medical Surgical Unit - Familiarity with Epic charting system Description: Minimum experience required is 1 year. First-timers are accepted. The patient population includes adolescents to geriatrics. Working in a medical surgical unit with remote telemetry is expected. Potential medical surgical diagnoses may be encountered. The ratio is 1:6 in a 38-bed unit with an average daily census of 33. Full compliance is required to start on time; delays may affect start date. If major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work them. Interdisciplinary support includes IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and other essential services. The use of rapid response and code teams may be required. Skills needed include peripheral line care/management and oxygen administration. Floating is required within the facility/scope of practice as needed. No call requirements are expected. Additional training modules may be part of the onboarding process. Pre-approved time off is limited to 7 days per contract. Holiday RTO requests depend on the number of holidays falling during the assignment.
