Senior Accountant

Location: EFTH Houston TX, 12500 Amelia Dr, Houston, TX 77045, USA General Summary of Position Support core accounting operations and help drive accuracy, efficiency, and insight across the business. This hands‑on role plays a key part in the month‑end close, financial reporting, and general accounting activities within a manufacturing environment. In addition to core responsibilities, this role supports the Director of Accounting by providing day‑to‑day guidance to the AP/AR accounting associate, helping ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently. The Senior Accountant will also perform ad‑hoc analyses to support decision‑making across the organization. This is a high‑visibility role with regular interaction across departments, offering the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to both financial reporting and operational improvements. Essential Functions Lead and actively participate in the month‑end and year‑end close process, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations Prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including inventory, COGS, and fixed assets Support costing functions, including: Rate updates Inventory valuation Variance analysis (labor, material, overhead) Partner with operations to understand production activity and identify cost drivers and cost‑saving opportunities Perform inventory accounting and maintain controls, including coordination and support of physical inventory counts Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes Support corporate reporting requirements and provide requested documentation Assist with external audit and tax preparation requests Support credit review processes for new customers and verification of vendor documentation Participate in yearend financial review with corporate leadership Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (manufacturing experience strongly preferred) Strong understanding of production accounting and inventory processes Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis) Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP EEO Statement We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
