Underwriting Support Associate - Commercial Lines

This role will be based out of our Cincinnati, OH regional offices and will follow the Sentry Hybrid work model schedule. In this position, you will support the commercial lines (CL) underwriting processes by handling a variety of transactions and policy changes. You will review and accept or decline new or renewal CL business with a degree of specialization across multiple lines of business, partnering with underwriters and sales producers to compile policy and coverage information for assigned business and customers. You will also ensure proper documentation and record management according to regulatory and Sentry standards. What You'll Do Ensure sufficient information is obtained and forwarded to the underwriter for proper risk evaluation Using manuals, established procedures, and collected information, prepare the underwriting file for the underwriter by completing loss summaries, reviewing driver acceptability, following up to obtain missing information, and other related tasks Process policy change requests within knowledge and authority levels, allowing the underwriters to focus on more complex policies and accounts Collaborate with other business areas to ensure service and quality objectives are met Build and maintain effective working relationships with underwriters, sales agents and brokers Maintain privacy and confidentiality requirements as required by legislation Perform other job-related duties as assigned from time to time What it Takes Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience Minimum of 1 year of related work experience Insurance courses related to property and casualty insurance, such as IIA and CPCU, beneficial Effective communication, analytical, and mathematical skills What You'll Receive Sentry offers flexibility through a scheduled Hybrid work model, with Monday and Friday work from home if you choose to, and work in office Tuesday through Thursday In‑office workspace and materials for your home office; prior to your start, Sentry will provide equipment for your home office Meal subsidy available for associates who report to an office 401(K) plan with a dollar‑for‑dollar match on your first eight percent, plus immediate vesting Tuition reimbursement program through Sentry University (SentryU) Generous paid‑time off plan and volunteer‑time off Group medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; parental leave; and Health and Wellness benefits Well‑being and employee assistance programs Sentry Foundation gift‑matching program to encourage charitable giving Equal Employment Opportunity Sentry is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
