Underwriting Support Associate - Commercial Lines

This role will be based out of our Cincinnati, OH regional offices and will follow the Sentry Hybrid work model schedule.In this position, you will support the commercial lines (CL) underwriting processes by handling a variety of transactions and policy changes. This will support the review and acceptance/decline of new or renewal CL business with a degree of specialization and/or across multiple lines of business. Partnering with underwriters and sales producers, you will compile and/or shares policy and coverage information for assigned business and customers. They will also ensure proper documentation and record management according to regulatory and Sentry standards.What You'll DoEnsure sufficient information is obtained and forwarded to the underwriter for proper risk evaluationUsing manuals, established procedures, and collected information, prepare the underwriting file for the underwriter by completing loss summaries, reviewing driver acceptability, following up to obtaining missing information and other related tasksProcess policy change requests within knowledge and authority levels allowing the underwriters to focus on more complex policies and accountsCollaborate with other business areas to ensure service and quality objectives are met.Build and maintain effective working relationships with underwriters, sales agents and brokersMaintain privacy and confidentiality requirements as required by legislationPerform other job-related duties as assigned from time to timeWhat it TakesAssociates degree or equivalent work experienceMinimum of 1 year of related work experienceInsurance courses related to property and casualty insurance, such as IIA and CPCU beneficialEffective communication, analytical, and mathematical skillsWhat You'll ReceiveAt Sentry, your total rewards go beyond competitive compensation.
