The duties of the EPA 1 will include, but will not be limited to: • Process contracts and budgets, as well as process interim and final project performance reports;• Prepare information for reports for the Division of the Budget and the Legislature; • Route grant applications from the Family and Community Engagement Office to reviewers and back, using available databases and other methods; • Respond to inquiries regarding the opportunity programs from the public;• Redact information from documents as needed for the programs;• Collect, develop, enter, and maintain databases, spreadsheets, and text documents, as assigned;• Provide guidance and reply to internal and external correspondence, including written and telephone inquiries;• Assist staff in data collection projects and grant-management activities;• Prepare information for posting on the Department website;• Evaluate proposals to determine successful applications for funding; • Assist with general office needs, including fielding phone calls and miscellaneous paperwork; and• Occasional statewide travel may be required, including overnights (up to 1% of assignment). Minimum Qualifications NY HELPS This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply. At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. For current New York State employees, salary is based on the candidate’s salary at the time of hire.
