Systems Administrator – 26-014 – San Diego, CA As a growing Department of Defense contractor, AUSGAR Technologies has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Administrator to join our team at NIWC PAC – Seaside in the Point Loma area of San Diego, CA. The role is focused on Linux systems administration and AWS cloud infrastructure support within highly secure environments. Responsibilities The System Administrator will perform daily system administration duties including backups, maintenance, patching, tuning, and troubleshooting of applications and operating systems. Responsibilities also encompass configuration and management of hardware, operating systems, COTS software, VMware vCenter/ESXi environments, Linux operating systems (RHEL/CentOS), AWS services (EC2, IAM, VPC, S3, security groups), containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes), Windows Server Active Directory, group policy, DNS, and basic network connectivity. Requirements Active Top‑Secret clearance or ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance. DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Sec+ CE). Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field; 5+ years of Systems Administration experience, 2+ years with Linux. Experience installing and configuring hardware, operating systems, and COTS software. Proficient in provisioning, installation/configuration, operation and maintenance of system hardware and software infrastructure. Strong Linux administration experience (RHEL/CentOS). Experience supporting AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, IAM, VPC, S3, security groups). Experience with VMware vCenter/ESXi management and troubleshooting. Experience deploying and managing containerized applications using Docker or Kubernetes. Experience with Windows Server Active Directory, group policy, user accounts, access and DNS services. Basic network connectivity troubleshooting skills. Effective troubleshooting of both Windows and Linux systems. Clear and accurate reporting of relevant information. Prior experience within the U.S. Department of Defense highly desired. Expected travel up to 10%, with one to two trips per year. Compensation and Benefits Salary Range: $135,000 – $145,000, based on qualifications and placed in Level I‑V.
