Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2+ years License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Medical ICU experience in a large facility. Comfortable with hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management. Critical thinker, flexible, and works well with others. Advanced skills in ventilator management, critical care pharmacology (IV sedation, paralytics, vasopressors), and advanced hemodynamic monitoring. Central line management experience is required. Description: This position requires assisting providers with any bedside procedures as needed, such as chest tube insertion and intubations. The unit has a capacity of 10 beds, with patient ratios of 2:1 for ICU and 4-5:1 for PCU. The staffing includes 1 Charge RN and 5 Staff RNs during the night shift. The unit is equipped with lift equipment, Targeted Temperature Management (TTM), ventilators, and IV pumps. Documentation is done through a specific electronic system. The schedule mandates 12-hour shifts with every other weekend and holiday support. There are no on-call requirements, but travelers will need to float as per the floating policy. A bedside shift report is mandatory, and the relief charge nurse is expected to perform nurse leader rounding. The unit does not have unit secretaries or patient care technicians. Negotiation of additional awards or recognition that may interest candidates is encouraged. Other enticing factors may include new equipment or technology and the overall experience of the staff.
