Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Progressive Care (CVPC) – North Carolina

Start Date: October 5, 2026
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio, minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period, holiday flexibility required

Highlights:

• 40-bed cardiovascular progressive care unit specializing in cardiac and vascular surgery populations
• Care for post-operative open heart surgery, CABG, valve replacements, TAVR, thoracic lung surgery, vascular procedures, and medical cardiology overflow
• Work within a Magnet-designated, nationally recognized facility rated among America's top 1% hospitals for clinical quality
• Utilize Cerner EMR, Baxter IV pumps, cardiac drip management, chest tube care, and epidural monitoring
• Supportive team environment with dedicated charge nurse, RN team, PCTs, and unit coordinators
• Floating to similar stepdown or medical-surgical units as needed

Requirements:

• Active RN license in North Carolina (or compact license)
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Recent stepdown experience required
• Telemetry monitoring experience required
• Prior cardiovascular surgery or vascular surgery experience highly preferred (open heart, TAVR, thoracic procedures, vascular interventions)
• CVICU experience a plus
• Experience with cardiac drip management, chest tube care, epidural management, and tube feedings preferred
