Project Accountant

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Project Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $80,000 to $90,000 per year.


Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee budget tracking, project expenses, labor hours, schedule updates, and progress indicators for direct and subcontracted work.
• Manage and review project cost data daily or weekly to ensure accuracy and flag potential issues.
• Correct and reallocate inaccurate cost data to maintain financial accuracy.
• Support data entry for Change Orders, Purchase Orders, and Subcontract Ledgers as needed.
• Assist with cost forecasting, analysis, and materials tracking to improve project efficiency.

Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent work experience.
• Have 3+ years of experience in project cost control, cost accounting, or financial analysis.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Trimble Viewpoint and HCSS software.
• Show strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Adapt to changing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.

Qualifications:

• Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and ERP systems.
• Understand construction cost controls and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Have experience using reporting tools such as Power BI and Excel for data analysis.
• Communicate effectively with professionals at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
• Work independently, take initiative, and contribute to process improvements.
