About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 16 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of neuro experience required License: Valid State Compact License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Client RN experience Comfortable with the NIH scale Proficient in caring for post-surgical neurology patients and various neurology diagnoses Description: This position requires floating between units. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. The expected patient ratio is 1:5. Candidates must have experience in the telemetry nursing specialty. Skills needed include BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, craniotomy, CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident) care, and the interpretation of dysrhythmias. Experience with management of dysrhythmias, post-operative neurosurgery care, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, spinal cord injury management, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury care is essential. The unit provides interdisciplinary support, including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. The facility is designated as a stroke unit and is thrombectomy capable. It is a JCAHO-designated Spine Center of Excellence and a Level 3 Epilepsy Center. Epic charting experience is required. Candidates must possess strong float capabilities between facilities. Travelers must adhere to contracted schedules and specific RTO requests. References are required covering the last year of experience. Failure to float when required may result in assignment termination. Communication devices may be provided for necessary duties.
