Senior Publicist

Job Description

The SENIOR PUBLICIST should have a keen understanding of the culinary and travel media landscape and strong public relations skills with prior New York City agency experience working with Restaurant and Hotel Clients. The SENIOR PUBLICIST will lead accounts and manage account teams, have solid relationships with media in F&B/lifestyle/travel and experience with strategy and new business (assisting with proposal writing, researching relevant business leads).

PUBLICIST Responsibilities + Qualifications

• Create meaningful and impactful comprehensive public relations strategies and plans specifically for restaurant and bar clients.

• Conduct proactive and reactive media pitching. 
\n
• Successfully pitch feature stories and meet regularly with/manage media to deliver high quality results. 
\n
• Act as day-to-day client contact for a selection of accounts.
\n
• Lead by example and demonstrate proven strong work ethic.
\n
• Oversee and create assets (when needed) for accounts including press releases, fact sheets, biographies, messaging, media alerts, agendas and recaps. 
\n
• Follow industry and client category trends and regularly share insights, thoughts and key findings as it relates to competitors. 
\n
• Delegate effectively, setting clear expectations and deadlines to junior team members. Provide needed resources for projects.
\n
• Manage quality of work on multiple accounts with professionalism. 
\n
• Support on new business proposals with research, brainstorming ideas and proposal creation. 
\n
• Have a passion for hospitality and food & beverage.
\n
• Be an effective mentor and successful professional advisor to junior staff
\n
• Familiar with submissions for awards (culinary, bar, design, hotel etc.)

• Lives in NYC or tri state area
